A day at the beach…

Unbelievable - a photographer actually finds time to photograph her own children!!!!
It is rare indeed but the kids are always up for it and when I told Ellise she would get to play in the water in her dress, well, she was on board all the way…
She loved it, even though it was a crisp last day of summer…

And then there’s Ethan - probably the best lookin’ 7 year old around!! I just can’t get enough of that smile!!!!

I have been so excited to shoot Amy and Spencer’s wedding!!! I shot their engagement session last fall and just fell in love with them. We got along so well that Im almost sad their wedding is over…
They got married at my all time favorite location - Meadowbrook Mansion. When I was a child my family visited the mansion and took the tour and I have been infatuated with it ever since.
Amy and Spencer are truly meant to be together - they are so perfect for each other and you could just see in their faces how excited they were to start their life together. It was difficult to narrow down my favorites for the blog - If I could I’d just post their password! So many little moments between friends, family and each other…
It was a fairytale day!
Congratulations Amy and Spencer!!!

Not posed… Spencer is actually that romantic and sweet…

I told you they had a perfect day!

I love these kind of shots - everyone checking out their pictures from the ceremony!

I shot Brianne’s brother Rick’s senior pictures last year so I was really excited to work with her family again.
Brianne is gorgeous… and so much fun to be around…
I love the way her pictures turned out!
The pictures of the dog near the end crack me up! Thats not her dog… we were shooting and this little puppy came running up to her and jumped all over her - The owner was apologetic and frantically trying to get the dog away but Brianne was just laughing so hard I had to keep shooting! Anyone who knows me, knows that my first reaction is always to just keep shooting no matter what!!! Im so glad I did - these shots are hilarious!

Katie and Josh were married at Twin Lakes Country Club which is a stunning location both indoors and out!
Katie and Josh’s day was perfect… full of laughter, smiles and the good tears! They are so in love and so happy its contagious…
Even their pastor was making jokes during the ceremony and their guests loved it… It was truly the day they planned for and they really deserved it.

looking at the dress…

a classic moment - the ringbearer took the time to let the flowergirl know she dropped some petals and should pick them up!!! Too cute!

Katie and Dad ready to make the decent down the stairs and down the aisle…

I bet you wish you knew what her sister said to get that reaction!!

This was too cute… During the bridal party dance the ringbearer wouldn’t dance with the flowergirl so Katie and Josh took her in - but when they started kissing you can tell their flowergirl felt a little ‘left out’ …

Who you’re really getting the chocolate fountain for….

Katie and Paul were married at Addison Oaks (which I find myself at quite frequently) Each and every time Im there though the spirit of the wedding Im a part of takes over and it feels like a brand new location.
You’ll see in the pictures below the joy on everyone’s faces and even in the tears you still can see the excitement and love that everyone shared.
One very notable moment pre-ceremony was when Paul’s gift was delivered. He gave her a very moving card and the ipod she really wanted! (you’d think that would be enough to make any girl happy!!) But as she scrolled through all the songs he took the time to upload she realized there was a slideshow loaded as well. To her surprise he had put together tons of photos of their life together up to that point!!!! Oh my gosh!!! I WAS CRYING!!!
What an incredible moment! Everyone was huddled around her crying as they watched the slideshow again and again!
The entire day was filled with special moments like that and Im so glad I had the honor of being a part of their wedding day!

Oh! This is one of my favorites because everytime a group formal shot was completed and the rest of the family moved away from them they would just start kissing and talking and completely lose themselves in each other!

Emily and Aaron were married at Van Hoosen Farmhouse in Rochester and had their reception at Great Oaks Country Club (also in Rochester)
I have been looking forward to their wedding all season! I met Emily and Aaron at Sarah and Craig’s wedding last spring (Emily was Sarah’s maid of honor) and it wasn’t long after that, that I got the call that Aaron had proposed!!
Sarah was Emily’s maid of honor this time and it was so much fun to hang out with everyone again.
We stopped off in downtown Rochester for some pics and it was more like hanging out than anything else.
I really had a great time with them and wish them all the best… I hope to see them at more weddings down the road!

This is one of my favorites because I just loved the anticipation of Emily and her dad’s long walk from the farmhouse to the gazebo. I love that although so many people were watching it was like they were in a world all to their own.

Rachel and Kyle had a very small and intimate wedding at the Commerce Grille -
I have to say when I first met Rachel and her mom I absolutely felt connected to them - They were planning the wedding on a short time schedule (only because they were so excited about their honeymoon they booked that first then planned the wedding around it!)
I just felt we had so much in common - their family stories sounded like my family stories and Marcie (Rachel’s mom) was just the sweetest woman I’d ever met! I was so happy that they included me in their special day!
Not unlike any other day this summer - it was BOILING and we had a very limited time to do pics between the ceremony and reception but Kyle was a trouper and I just thought it was so funny that his truck matched the colors of the wedding so we had to get a shot with it!

Jillian and Chris booked me over the phone (they live out of state) and although I’d never actually met them face to face I felt like we were old friends from the moment I walked through the door.
We actually have quite a bit in common, namely, a love for photography!
Chris and I chatted up everything from cameras to Photoshop… Its always fun to talk about that!!!
Their wedding was beautiful - They had their ceremony and reception at Gino’s Surf in Harrison Township and after the sun set all of the palm trees out on the patio lit up and created the most dreamy atmosphere - I had to take advantage of that!

Chip and Margaret (My little brother and sister-in-law) had their little angel last night!!!
Taylor Rose was born on July 27th just before midnight - weighing in at over 9lbs!!!
Im so excited for them and of course for my Nephew, Grant, who is now a big brother!

The Proud Parents (who just couldn’t take their eyes off of their new daughter)

Im shooting Mary and Justin’s wedding in November and I already know Im going to really enjoy spending their day with them. We never ran out of things to talk about as we walked the grounds of Meadowbrook Mansion and they were just so sweet with each other…
I can’t believe how fast their wedding is approaching!
